Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information — if you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you use Google Sign-In, basic profile information (name, email, profile photo) from your Google account. If you sign up with a password, we store a securely hashed version of it — never the password itself.
• Content you submit — links to Instagram Reels or YouTube videos you paste into the Service, and the recipes (ingredients, steps, notes) you save to your library.
• Usage data — with your consent, we use PostHog to understand how the Service is used (pages visited, searches, which recipes and tags get opened, device/browser type). We ask before any of this loads, and if you decline, no analytics is loaded at all. If you are signed in, these events are linked to your account so we can tell repeat visits apart; if you are not, they are not tied to your name.
• Cookies — we use cookies to keep you signed in (session cookies) and, where enabled, to serve and measure advertising through Google AdSense.

How we use it

We use this information to operate and improve the Service — extracting and displaying recipes, keeping your account signed in, saving your recipe library, understanding usage patterns, and (once ads are enabled) serving relevant advertising.

Third parties

We share data with the following service providers, only as needed to run the Service:

• Google — for sign-in (OAuth) and, once enabled, advertising (Google AdSense). Google’s use of data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
• PostHog — our product analytics provider, which receives the usage data described above only if you consent. You can decline when asked, and nothing is sent.
• Railway — our hosting provider, which stores our database and serves the application.

We do not sell your personal information.

Advertising

Once advertising is enabled, Google AdSense may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google’s Ads Settings.

Data retention & your choices

You can delete recipes from your library at any time, and delete your account from your account settings. We retain data only as long as needed to provide the Service.

Deleting your account removes your account, your sign-in details and your private recipes. Two things deliberately survive it. Recipes you shared to the community stay published, under a “Nourishible Community” account rather than your name — other people may be cooking from them. And we keep anonymous totals, such as how many accounts have ever been created and the month an account was created and closed, which contain no name, email or identifier and cannot be traced back to you.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

Terms of Service

Using the Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use Nourishible. You’re responsible for the accuracy of any account information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure.

Content from creators

Recipes on Nourishible are derived from publicly shared videos on platforms like Instagram and YouTube. We attribute each recipe to its original creator and link back to the source video. Recipe extraction is provided for personal, informational use; the underlying video content remains the property of its original creator, and we make no claim of ownership over it. If you’re a creator and want a recipe derived from your content removed, reach out and we’ll act promptly.

Your content

Recipes, notes, or ingredient lists you personally add or edit remain yours. By saving content to the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display it back to you as part of providing the Service.

Acceptable use

Don’t use the Service to submit content you don’t have the right to share, to scrape or resell recipe data in bulk, or to interfere with the Service’s normal operation.

No warranty

The Service is provided “as is.” Recipes are extracted using automated tools and may occasionally contain errors (including in ingredient quantities, allergens, or steps) — always use your own judgment, especially around allergies and food safety.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Nourishible is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Changes to the Service or these terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, or update these terms, at any time. We’ll post updates here.
